If I Were….

I am taking this blog post idea from my favorite author, Nicole Baart.

If I were a flower, I’d be a tulip.

If I were a song, I’d be “Closer to the Moon” by Alli Rogers.

If I were a place, I’d be a bubbling brook, flowing over rocks and brush.

If I were drink, I’d be a caramel latte.

If I were a food, I’d be sweetened condensed milk (random? yes…but well-thought out).

If I were an article of clothing, I’d be my leopard-print platform heels (my favorite shoe EVER!).

San Antonio

My husband and I went to San Antonio this weekend to celebrate our first anniversary, and we had so much fun! We had tickets to see Wicked at the Majestic Theatre, which was AMAZING, beyond words, and we stayed at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel, the oldest hotel in Texas. We had a wonderful anniversary!

We went to the Alamo on Sunday, and outside on the steps was an older fellow playing on his mandolin, singing old country gospel hymns as loud as he could! We stopped to watch and listen for a few minutes, and he suddenly stopped singing and began preaching!

He was very interesting and had so much character that I had to photograph him. I was drawn to his charisma and boldness to preach the gospel to tourists and strangers on a Sunday morning.

This is the marquee for the Majestic Theater. Wicked was amazing, and the inside of the theatre was breathtaking. If you ever have a chance to go to the Majestic, do it – its phenomenal!

Near our hotel was this old Walgreen’s building, and I loved the antique building.

On Saturday we drove to Gruene to shop, eat at the Gristmill, and float down the Guadaloupe River. My dear husband got quite a sunburn, but I enjoyed a nice tan!

We also visited Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas, where so many legends have played and started their careers. It was so interesting to see the history that has taken place there.
