Our Photo Session is TOMORROW!!! What Should We Wear?!!?? {Denton Family Portrait Photographer}

Flowing white shirts and khakis on the beach.  Navy polos and yet more khakis all around.  We’ve all seen those photos–heck, most of us have been in those photos.  But did you know that coordinated but not “uniform” looks for families create a much more pleasing photograph? Moreover, it is not nearly as difficult as you think it is!  The cardinal rule of family dressing for portraits is simple: choose items for the entire family as if you were creating one outfit.  If all of your choices were somehow on one person, would the result be pleasing, colorwise?  A handy trick for those who are hesitant to break away from the monochrome madness is to choose one patterned item (for example a print dress for your daughter) and then select the rest of the family’s clothing from colors within that pattern.

Because this is such a common dilemma, I am introducing my new Fashion Guide for families! Goldapple Photography

Hopefully this will help show you how to coordinate your colors and how to dress for a family session! I will have several more Fashion Guides in the next weeks, so keep checking out my blog for ideas! And don’t forget to schedule your holiday family portrait session by November 1st – so you can mail out your holiday cards and get prints and albums to give as your Christmas gifts!

Double the Fun, Double the Fabulous-ness! {Denton Family Portrait Photographer}

My dear new friend Charlotte loves and misses her twin sister Sally so much! Charlotte lives here in Texas, while Sally lives in Florida, and they don’t get to see each other very often! So when Sally planned a trip to come visit, Charlotte decided she wanted to have a special custom photo session done as a surprise for her beloved sister! It was such a wonderful surprise for her, and the session was such a blast!!! Sally and Charlotte, although identical twins, have very obvious differences not only in their looks (as you will see!!!) but also in their fabulous personalities! What a fun session, and I just know those beautiful girls will LOVE their sneak peek! Sally, have a great trip back to Florida, and we can’t wait to see you visit again!
